PELICAN HOOK BELTS

We have made these same belts for over 50 years. Each belt is hand cut with a draw gauge from 8-10 oz domestically tanned "English bridle" leather bends, which make for extremely durable strapping. This leather is actually tanned and finished for the horse bridle industry. This vegetable tanned leather is quite expensive, but worth the difference. Each strap is worked through 7 steps before it's attached to a solid brass buckle using solid brass rivets. Color choice is dark brown, medium brown, burgundy, chestnut, and black. Because dye batches from the tannery will vary and because computer screens vary, we do not recommend dependence on these photos for matching color. All the belt colors can be seen on the one inch belt page. Custom belts for any buckle you may have is our specialty.

Rear

Solid brass pelican hook - 1 1/4 inch wide (belt and buckle) - shown in dark brown. Here we use a solid brass pelican hook as a buckle ... looping it through a narrow leather strap that adjusts in the same manner as the hoof pick belt. Pelican hooks are traditional marine hardware used most often on the lifelines on sailboats. Screw rivet can be detached in order to turn the hook down.

$92.00

Front

Same as above, but the hook is stainless steel and has a more curving shape.

$92.00

Either of these belts can be special ordered with wider straps at $5.00 per ¼".

BELT SIZE

Please determine belt size by measuring a currently used belt. Pants waist size is no longer a reliable way to determine belt size.

ALL BELTS ARE MADE TO ORDER
SIZE IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. PLEASE MEASURE. NO RETURNS.

Measure from point "A" on the buckle to the most used hole on your current belt.  It might not be the middle hole. This measurement is usually 2 to 5 inches bigger than your pants waist size.  Note that “A” on the top belt is just inside the buckle end where the swivel tongue meets the buckle body…..and that “A” on the bottom belt is at the base of the hook. It’s important that the working length of the buckle be included in your measurement.

Point "B" on the new belt will be the middle of 5 holes (or loops on some styles).
